He is a licensed Audiologist (#722) in the state of New Jersey. Dr. Sandler has presented his doctoral research on patient satisfaction and the perceived value of hearing aids, and he has been working in private practice since 2007. He became co-owner of The Hearing Center in 2010 and currently serves as co-director of The Hearing Center’s student mentoring program, where he supervises doctoral-level audiology students. He has been an adjunct professor in the Audiology departments at Montclair State University and is currently an adjunct faculty at Kean University. Dr. Sandler is a member of the American Academy of Audiology, the New Jersey Academy of Audiology, and the New Jersey Speech and Hearing Association (NJSHA), where he serves as Chair of the Audiology Committee. Dr. Sandler was selected as one of NJFamily.com’s Favorite Kids’ Docs in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2022, and 2023. He has extensive experience managing complex audiological cases and cochlear implant patients through The Hearing Center’s Cochlear Implant Center. As a Music Audiologist, Dr. Sandler works with nationally and internationally known musicians and entertainers to treat and protect their hearing. He also presents regularly at community events as well as at state, national, and international conferences on various hearing-related topics. In addition to his clinical and academic roles, Dr. Sandler co-hosts the Hear Us Out podcast with Dr. Schechter, where they explore how sound and hearing influence the human experience. Judith Sandler, AuD., received her Doctorate in Audiology from Arizona School of Health Sciences in 2005. She co-founded The Hearing Center in 1986. Previous to that she was the Audiologist at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch where she participated with the Cleft Palate Unit and the ENT Clinic. Dr. Sandler was also involved with starting the audiologic monitoring of all babies from the hospital’s Neonate Intensive Care unit. After working at the hospital she was the Audiologist at Kean University, where she did routine testing along with consulting to their Campus School for children with multiple disabilities. She also supervised many of the graduate audiology students. Dr. Sandler has also consulted with several Otolaryngolists throughout the state. Her clinical experience includes work in outpatient rehabilitative hospitals and independent private practices, with a strong emphasis on patient-centered care. Dr. Puglisi has a particular interest in aural rehabilitation and spent seven years leading The Hearing Society, a community support and education group for older adults with hearing loss, where she coordinated educational content, communication practice, and peer support. In addition to maintaining clinic hours at The Hearing Center, Dr. Puglisi, she is currently an adjunct faculty member at Montclair State University, where she teaches Adult Aural Rehabilitation. Dr. Puglisi also previously served as the Director of Hearing Health Coaching at Amptify, a digital aural rehabilitation program developed by clEAR, Inc. Dr. Puglisi holds New Jersey licenses in both Audiology and Hearing Aid Dispensing. Dr. Greenfield completed her fourth-year clinical residency at Hackensack University Medical Center and Hackensack Audiology and Hearing Aid Associates. Earlier in her training, she completed a semester-long clinical internship at The Hearing Center. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a minor in Public Health from Muhlenberg College. In recognition of her academic excellence and leadership, she was inducted into the Honor Society for Graduate and Professional School Students in 2016. Dr. Schechter has experience working with a diverse range of patients, from pediatric to geriatric populations. Her clinical expertise includes diagnostic testing, hearing aids, cochlear implants, and videonystagmography (VNG). She has a particular passion for Auditory Processing evaluations, having recently completed a master’s level course on the Buffalo Model for Auditory Processing Disorders. Dr. Schechter has presented her work at both the New Jersey Speech and Hearing Association (NJSHA) conference in 2023 and the American Academy of Audiology (AAA) conference in 2024. Prior to her audiology training, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Art History from Rutgers University in 2018. The Hearing Center, graduated from Rutgers College in 2002. He graduated from Montclair State University in 2007 with a Doctorate of Science in Audiology. He is a licensed Audiologist (#722) and Hearing Aid Dispenser (#1082) in the state of New Jersey. Dr. Sandler has presented his doctoral research on patient satisfaction and perceived value of hearing aids. He has worked in the private practice setting since 2007. Dr. Sandler has been a co-owner of The Hearing Center since 2010. Dr. Sandler is a member of the American Academy of Audiology, New Jersey Academy of Audiology, and the New Jersey Speech and Hearing Association. Dr. Sandler is co-director of The Hearing Center’s student mentoring program supervising doctoral level students in audiology. Dr. Sandler is an adjunct professor at Montclair State University in the Audiology department. She co-founded The Hearing Center in 1986. Previous to that she was the Audiologist at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch where she participated with the Cleft Palate Unit and the ENT Clinic. Dr. Sandler was also involved with starting the audiologic monitoring of all babies from the hospital’s Neonate Intensive Care unit. After working at the hospital she was the Audiologist at Kean University, where she did routine testing along with consulting to their Campus School for children with multiple disabilities. She also supervised many of the graduate audiology students. Dr. Sandler has also consulted with several Otolaryngolists throughout the state. She began her career at JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute and Saint Peter’s University Hospital where she enhanced her clinical skills for pediatric through adult populations. After starting a family, Dr. Perle transitioned to private practice settings. One of Dr. Perle’s special interests are implantable technology, including cochlear implants and the Bone Anchored Hearing Apparatus (BAHA). Dr. Perle was one of the first audiologists in Monmouth County who was identifying cochlear implant candidates and programming cochlear implants. In addition, she specializes in the diagnosis and management of auditory processing disorders in children and adults. Dr. Perle has been invited to collaborate with several local public and private schools to serve this population of students. Dr. Conte earned her Bachelors of Science degree from East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania in Speech Language Pathology with a minor in gerontology. In 2015, Dr. Conte competed in a grand rounds competition and received first place for her presentation on Hybrid cochlear implants. She has extensive training in diagnostic testing and treatment of hearing disorders in adult and pediatric populations. She spent a semester as a clinical intern at The Hearing Center, and completed her fourth-year clinical residency at Hackensack University Medical Center and Hackensack Audiology and Hearing Aid Associates. Dr. Greenfield earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Muhlenberg College in Psychology with a minor in Public Health. In 2016, she was accepted into the Honor Society for Graduate and Professional School students for academic excellence and leadership. She completed a course of study at Lyons Institute of Medical Technology, Union College and Alpha Train computer school. Val has many years experience in physicians’ private practice, National Health Laboratories, Assisted Living, the Nursing Home environment and Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center’s Medical Education.
